HOW TO JOIN AN UNTURNED SERVER

Follow this comprehensive guide to connect to any Unturned server

Before You Start

Requirements:

  • ✓ Unturned installed on your PC via Steam
  • ✓ Steam account (free to create)
  • ✓ Internet connection
  • ✓ Server IP and Port

Method 1: Direct Connect (Fastest)

This is the quickest way to join a server when you have the IP address and port.

Launch Unturned

Open Steam and launch Unturned from your game library.

Click "Play" on the Main Menu

Once the game loads, click the PLAY button on the main menu.

Select "Connect"

Look for the CONNECT button at the bottom of the screen and click it.

Enter Server Details

Enter the server's IP address and port number:

IP Address: play.unturnedroleplay.com

Port: 27015

Example shown is for the Life RP server

Click "Connect"

After entering the details, click the CONNECT button to join the server.

Wait for Connection

The game will download any required workshop mods and connect you to the server. This may take a few moments on your first connection.

Method 2: Server Browser

Browse and search for servers directly within the game.

Launch Unturned & Click "Play"

Open Unturned through Steam and click PLAY on the main menu.

Select "Servers"

Click the SERVERS button to open the server browser.

Choose "Internet" Tab

Make sure you're on the INTERNET tab to see all public servers.

Search for the Server

Use the search bar at the top to find your server:

  • Type the server name (e.g., "Unturned Roleplay" or "Life RP")
  • You can also use filters to narrow down results by map, gamemode, or player count

Click on the Server

Once you find your server in the list, click on it to select it.

Click "Join"

Click the JOIN button at the bottom right to connect to the server.

Troubleshooting

"Connection Failed" or "Timed Out"

  • Check that you entered the correct IP address and port
  • Verify your internet connection is stable
  • The server may be offline or restarting - wait a few minutes and try again
  • Check if the server is listed as online on the status page

"Missing Workshop Items" or Stuck Downloading

  • Make sure you're subscribed to all required Workshop mods (they usually auto-subscribe)
  • Check your Steam Downloads - Workshop items may be downloading in the background
  • Try restarting Steam if downloads are stuck
  • Verify Unturned's game files through Steam (Right-click Unturned → Properties → Local Files → Verify)

"Server Is Full"

  • The server has reached its maximum player capacity and you'll need to wait for a slot to become available.
  • If you have our Reserved Slot package which is available on our store page, then our server will detect this and open a slot for you!

"You Are Banned"

  • You have been banned from this server and will have to appeal it.
  • You can do this by joining our Discord and making an appeal ticket.

Game Crashes When Joining

  • Update your graphics drivers
  • Lower your in-game graphics settings
  • Verify Unturned's game files through Steam
  • Unsubscribe from conflicting Workshop mods
  • Make sure your PC meets Unturned's minimum requirements
